What is Woman of Significance?
Woman of Significance ("WOS") is an organisation aimed at young and mature women within the United Kingdom.
WOS is for the woman who feels purposeless, ungifted and insignificant in this world. We help this woman by hosting a variety of themed events and workshops that teach her that she is significant, valued, purposed and can do great things with her life. We equip her with practical skills and tools to benefit her social, economic, mental and physical needs. A Woman of Significance is more than a successful woman, she is a woman who ignites change within her family, local community, society and we believe the world will benefit from her.
How Do We Achieve This?
W.O.S provides a variety of workshops and event throughout the year aimed at teenage girls and mature women. All events lead to the W.O.S annual all-female concert. However, we are more than just hosting events. We are hoping to be the mother to some and sister to many. We believe in going above and below our events to actually support and mentor the ladies after all events.
What are our goals/vision?
Our goals are to teach every young and mature woman within the U.K that they are significant in this world. We want them to understand and believe that there is greatness within them, that she is the key to change. We want every insecure woman and a teenage girl who is filled with self-doubt, worry and low confidence to be set free from negative thinking and to walk in boldness, knowing that she can find her purpose and fulfill her desires and dreams. W.O.S has plans of hosting workshops such as the Woman Get Your Coins financial seminar in secondary schools and touring universities.
Woman of Significance was founded by Lorraine Kamara who was the presenter and producer of the ALL 4 GOSPEL show seen on Sky 218. She also has a YouTube channel called Living Like Lulu. She has a passion for broadcast media and uses that platform to share wisdom, advice but also spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Lorraine had a vision 4 years ago in which she saw young women from all backgrounds finding and igniting their individual purpose in a conference.
“ In the vision, these girls were crying and pleading for help. They were overlooked, undervalued, insecure and felt insignificant. They stretched out their hands for help and the next thing I saw were older women praying over them. The vision only lasted for 20 seconds but it was the saddest thing I have ever seen. It was painful to see that these girls had so much light, so much significance, each girl unique in her own way but because of self-doubt, insecurity and fear that light could not be seen.
However, at the end of this vision with the right teaching, with the right encouragement, practical tools and prayer, we helped unlock their greatness”.
Lorraine often asks this question what will the future generation of women look like especially as the trials and tribulations of the world increase. She believes they can be women of God, women of virtue, women of significance, women of wisdom, the total woman, whole, complete and confident.
However, she believes it will only start with us women getting it right today.
